Once again formatting an old post, originally for Fandom Snowflake, for this. Adding some of my own metas (after deleting a spite!meta, more or less) and apparently I posted this without closing a tag on one of the older links? Whoops.

The downside of watching Burn Notice is that there are over 100 episodes, making it one of USA Network's few shows to reach that milestone. There’s also a TV movie. The upside is that, if you watch a few episodes, you do get what the show's about, despite the changes in Michael's burn notice arc over the seasons. The only thing that might throw you off is the addition of Jesse, a spy Michael accidentally burns in season 4. Other than that, well, feel free to jump into this show's canon anytime.

But first: I was going to republish a meta I did that I wrote out of spite. I really wanted to write a Michael/Fiona ship manifesto for Het Reccers, but at the time, I couldn’t claim them because someone else had claimed them at the comm (the policy was first come, first serve with couples, and I had the misfortune of being out the day signups started, missing out on them by mere hours). I received anonymous advice to write the manifesto anyway, and so I did. I originally published this manifesto for HC Bingo. Looking at it now, I feel part of it was boring because it extensively recapped Michael and Fiona’s relationship, and part of it was cringeworthy because I feel the manifesto attacked shippers “not doing it right” for dumb reasons. tl;dr I felt that manifesto was not worth saving or updating, and I decided to delete the manifesto. (It’s not the one I would write for Het Reccers.)

That said, I wrote the following as a follow-up to that manifesto. It’s about one episode of Burn Notice and a ship analysis.

I posted my Michael/Fiona manifesto to het_reccers. Um...it doesn't seem too personal like some manifestos posted to the comm, since I didn't add any personal reflections about my love of the couple? But I was able to find ten unique recs for my manifesto. (I know a couple of Mike/Fi recs were repeated between a couple of posts, and no one was chewed out for it, oddly.)

Nearly forgot to add this: I would've written this years ago 1) if I was able to claim them when the last shipper manifesto post went up; 2) if the rules allowed more than one person to claim one ship per period at that time; 3) if the old mods didn't alternate, and then later give up on, seasonal shipper/character/fandom manifestos. So I've been waiting two years to write that manifesto.

It is done. Now to move on to editing to writing that Harlequin AU between Fi and Jesse for myself, I guess.
